It all started on a beautiful day in August. I was helping a friend paint the interior of her home. I had just finished fine tuning my resume to begin job searching and my friend and I were discussing potential jobs that would be a good fit for me.
Me: I don't want to be stuck in an office all day (My last job was in a windowless building)
Friend: What is it that you really want to do?
Me: Well, I've always been the go to, can do person in every office I've ever worked in.
Friend: Why don't you become the Go2Guy? Run errands for people who don't have time!
Me: That's an excellent idea...I love it!
Synapses started firing, ideas blossomed, I was so excited & continue to be excited about providing this service to my customers...to YOU!
I began by discussing the idea with a few local business owners. The idea was well received...they could use my services!
I discussed the idea with acquaintances during a going away party for a dear friend, they loved the idea, had great suggestions and we're very excited for me.
I quickly moved onto internet research of similar businesses, I wanted to know exactly what I could offer to my customers (the list was and is extensive). I wanted to know how to function efficiently as a new business. I wanted to know how much to charge and how other businesses similar to mine advertised.
Business license in hand. Developing a website. Making business cards and brochures and coming up with a promotional plan then rounding up friends (who have been optimistic and willing to help since the idea was formed).
My name is Ian Henny, I've lived in Fairbanks for 13 years now and it is home. I have been an office assistant, executive assistant, travel agent and bookkeeper. I have professional fundraising experience and have worked in sales as well.
